Writers Guild announces that 3-month strike is now officially over.
This evening The Writers Guild of America membership voted 3,492 to 283 in favour of ending the 3-month old writers strike. Writers can return to work immediately and start pumping out new screenplays and television scripts.
This is great news. I was worried that I would be missing out on this spring's seasons of Entourage and Flight of the Conchords but it now appears they should be able to release on time. It will also be interesting to see how writers going back to work affect the late night talk shows. Conan and The Colbert Report have been very original and absolutely hilarious the past few weeks without writers, hopefully more of the same will continue to be shown.
This is nothing but great news for the industry, let's hope the potential Screen Actors Guild strike doesn't last this long come summertime.
Cheers.

What a relief the strike is over! I'm looking forward to local film and television projects getting under way again . . .
