Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs Revealed

Hasbro has released images of an Indiana Jones Mighty Mugg line.

Hasbro has released images of a Indiana Jones Mighty Muggs line to go along with their already released Star Wars and Marvel vinyl figures. I have been completely won over by the whole concept of Mighty Muggs and every new figure Hasbro shows off is just begging to end up on a shelf somewhere in my house.



The Indiana Jones Mighty Mugg lineup features Indy, Henry Jones, Mola Ramm (with beating heart accessory), Cairo Swordsman, and Monkey Man. Indy is arguably the best looking Mugg so far in my opinion and Sean Connery's likeness is spot on with the Henry Jones figure. I'll most likely pick up Indy, Henry, and the sweet Mola Ramm Muggs.



Hasbro hasn't yet announced the release date of these Muggs but one can speculate they'll hit shelves this summer.

Toy Fair 2008 Marvel Mighty Muggs Pics

Pictures of Hasbro's Marvel Legends Mighty Muggs Wave 2 vinyl figures have hit the net.

As many know, the American International Toy Fair is being held this weekend in New York. The convention showcases new toys and related products and is often where new figures, statues, and designs are unveiled. This year looks like it'll be no exception as I've stumbled across some pics of Hasbro's second wave of Marvel Legends Mighty Muggs.

MediaZEALOT ran an article on the Muggs a few days back (read it HERE) but I was unsure of which figures would be part of the second wave of Marvel figures. I had seen a picture of a The Thing Mighty Mugg and suspected it would inclued in the wave but had no idea who would fill in the other three spots. The pictures, released earlier today, show that Captain America, Dr. Doom, and Hulk will make up the rest of the list.



I think that The Thing figure is the best looking in this wave. Cap may have his shield, Doom his cape, and Hulk may just be a total bad-ass but none of the three hold a candle to Mr. Grimm. To tell the truth I'm a bit disappointed with the second wave. It's not that they aren't great figures, they are, it's just that the bar was set so high with the first wave. Regardless, they are still pretty neat.

I am unsure when the second wave of Marvel Legends Mighty Muggs hit shelves. If the release habits of the Star Wars Muggs are any indication the second wave will come out in April, a month after the first.

Mighty Muggs are Sweet

Hasbro has hit the jackpot with their vinyl statues.

I was picking up my comics last week at Pow when I saw the shop had gotten in some sweet new Star Wars vinyl figs called Mighty Muggs. The statues are five inches tall and feature a very smooth and curved artistic style with a big round head on each one. Pow was selling Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Han Solo, and Chewie but hadn't yet received Darth Maul or Stormtrooper figures. I bought Fett and later returned to buy Vader and they are both proudly displayed on my desk at home as I'm typing this. The statues look great side-by-side. I'm not that big of a Star Wars fan yet I couldn't resist picking these guys up.



Now, after doing some detective work online it appears that Hasbro has more in store for their Mighty Muggs line. Star Wars Wave 2 will be released next month and feature the likes of Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Episode 2), Mace Windu, and C-3P0. I've got to pick up 3P0 as he looks awesome.

Also, Hasbro is bringing out a line of Mighty Muggs based on your favourite Marvel Legends due out in March. The first wave features Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, and a super sweet looking Venom. I've also seen pictures from SDCC 2007 of a The Thing Mighty Mugg, maybe he's being kept for Wave 2.



Hasbro's Might Muggs are great. They are affordable at $15 a pop (Canadian) and are small enough to display almost everywhere. I can't wait for the Marvel Legends Mighty Muggs and Star Wars Wave 2 should be pretty cool as well.
